Recent Investigations

Some of Haunted Florida's newest investigations and what was found.

Myrtle Hill Cemetery

On-going investigation: A visit back in February proved interesting. Team member Greg Jenkins joined Kim Rebman. Both team members felt a strong presence in both mausoleums. Upon leaving the second mausoleum, a white/black vintage police car was seen parked near by. Ready to explain ourselves to the police, but wondering why the car was so old, we walked past the mausoleum to get closer. It was gone. There was no evidence of it ever being there. No engine smells, no tire tracks. On a more recent investigation, team members Sarah and Bill joined Kim and Greg. Activity was high this night. Strong presence felt in first (main) mausoleum. Orbs and cold spots. EVP picked up strange whispers and unexplainable noises. Kim heard a distinct woman's voice crying and shortly after, Sarah's K-II meter spiked near Stephanie C.'s crypt face. We felt Stephanie was present and was trying to communicate. A second spike was made near the crypt face. A loud banging noise was made on the metal stairs, as if someone jumped down or threw something, however, no one was present. Prior to this moment, strange soft noises were heard in this part of the mausoleum. Rumbled noises followed by the door in this section, as if someone was trying to get away. A woman's cry was then heard for a second time. There was no doubt that this disembodied voice was trying to communicate with Kim in particular. Near Stephanie's grave, the hair on Kim's arm stood on end, and it almost felt as if she was trying to touch her. Upon entering the second mausoleum, a man's voice was heard by Greg. Lots of battery drain throughout the investigation. Strong feelings of being watched, primarily in second mausoleum. As we approached our vehicle, two team members heard a UB radio, as if a police officer was near and then saw a strange red light. Upon further investigation, no one was found, including the police. This happened in the exact same area as the vintage police car was seen on the last investigation. Rustling and footsteps were also heard at this point. Strong feelings of being watched again.

Brooksville

Feb. '09: Team members Jason and Fran Dowd, joined Kim and Mike Rebman to investigate the Brooksville Cemetery and the Spring Hill Cemetery. Strange sounds were heard in S.H. A sound of footsteps and a possible cry. Nothing picked up in Brooksville Cemetery, however. We also investigated the Scarborough House (see picture). Able to get inside the old, rotting abode, we heard a man's voice say, "Don't." Ignoring the warning, we investigated the interior of the home, finding a dead bird trapped in a downstairs window. I could feel the presence of someone following us. The air was heavy. I felt the need to leave the house. After leaving, Jason kept staring behind me as I walked past the outdoor porch. He said he saw a dark shadow and thought at first it was Mike. When he realized Mike and Fran were up ahead by the car, he looked back and saw the shadow dart behind a bush.

St. Augustine

Team members Kim and Mike Rebman joined Greg Jenkins, along with film crew (Josh and Sandra) to begin the documentary. Interviews and investigations were done throughout the town, including a late night walk around the fort and an early morning trip over to the lighthouse. Orbs captured on film and some strange feelings, but nothing significant.

Hudson-private residence

Contacted by a family who has been feeling "bad energy" in their home. Have seen shadow people and the apparitions of both a man in a hat and a young female. Team members Nina and Dale Pollauf joined David, Kim and Mike. Extra help was required with this case (special thanks to Mike M. and Judy). The investigation turned up nothing significant. Contact was made with the homeowner's mother and we felt she was the "dominant" spirit in the home. Team members felt everything but negativity. Comfort and sweet smells were noted, but nothing malelovent. The residents of the home were having some personal issues within their family unit, perhaps causing some of the negative energy themselves.
